To think that I am the descendant of a Revolutionary War hero is enough to make me bust my buttons with pride. The date was October 19, 1781. My fifth great-grandfather, Major General Benjamin Lincoln, was designated by Commander George Washington to represent him when British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered his troops in Yorktown, Virginia. The fact that a 18 foot by 12 foot mural is hanging in the Rotunda in Washington D.C., is even grander. But I admit, that I am over the moon and back about my guy Benjamin being a character in the Broadway hit Hamilton.  The Yorktown surrender could not have been a better source of drama for the theatre. But watch it unfold through the words, music, rap and rhythm of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Benjamin Lincoln is not mentioned by name, but undeniably he is upstage high in the scaffolding.  Could I BE any prouder? Enjoy…
